Posting Loops with Turbo Lister

Here are some brief instructions for how to post FilmLoop Gallery Loops using Turbo Lister.  To refresh your memory, here's what a Gallery Loop looks like:

It's nice to put these onto your listing pages.  They allow you to cross-promote other items you're selling. The Gallery Loop will keep up to date with your latest listings.

With Turbo Lister, you can save yourself time by making your Gallery Loop code an "insert" that you can quickly pop into all your listings. Here's how:

1. Follow the instructions on this Blog for getting the Gallery Loop code onto your clipboard.

2. Launch Turbo Lister and start to build a new listing.

3. Click on "Description Builder":

4. In the Description Builder, click on HTML View:

5. Choose to "Create an Insert":

6. Name the insert, and paste in the Gallery Loop code you put onto your Clipboard in step (1) above.

7. Then save your insert.

Continue as you would to complete your listing with Turbo Lister. You can add any text before and after the Gallery Loop. Your Gallery Loop will appear within your description wherever you specified in the Description Builder/HTML View above. 

Now, whenever you are working on a description of any item, you can pop a Gallery Loop at the bottom, or top, or anywhere, of your description by choosing it from the Insert menu.

When your Gallery Loop displays on the eBay listing page, it will automatically update with the latest items you have for sale.

Remember that you must paste the Gallery Loop code in the HTML view of the Description Builder.

Posting your Gallery Loop on eBay

We get questions from eBay sellers about how to post their whizzy Gallery Looplet onto eBay.  Here are the basic steps.

Follow the steps in this blog post to get the code for the Gallery Looplet onto your Clipboard.

To add to an eBay.com listing page:

1. Go to the "Revise your item" area of eBay.com

2. Click on "Edit description"

3. Click on "Enter your own HTML"

4. Paste the code from the clipboard into the place where you want your Gallery Looplet to appear.

Usually, Gallery Looplets look best centered on the page. So, add some paragraph centering tags around it:

<P align=center> BEFORE
</P> AFTER

Usually, Gallery Looplets look best at the end of the page, below the description for the current listing.

To add a Gallery Looplet to the eBay "About Me" page:

Either create, or edit your existing About Me page. (Read about this on eBay.com.)

Wherever you are offered a chance to enter your own HTML, copy the code for your Looplet on the Clipboard to the text box.

To add a Gallery Looplet to a blog or web site:

1. Just find the right place on your blog or web site, and get into "HTML editing" mode.

2. Paste the code right into your web page.

3. Pay attention to the right width and height to accommodate your Gallery Looplet.

Watch for what you really, really want on eBay

To Find Something on eBay
Go to http://ebay.filmloop.com.

Use search box to browse for whatever you like. You can also enter a seller name or ID to see all the items for that particular seller.

Use "power search" terms to really focus your search. Click here to see the page on eBay for details of power search terms.

Open the Loop in FilmLoop
If you want to keep an eye your favorite items on eBay, click on "Open in FilmLoop" to display the Loop on your desktop. You won't have to keep going back to eBay to see what's new. Sit back and watch the items come to you. As they are added to eBay, they arrive in your desktop Loop. Plus, you'll get a little notification on your desktop whenever there's a new item for sale in your favorite category. It's a super fun way to keep an eye on eBay. You can even watch your eBay Loop as your screen saver!

Is the Loop always up to date?
Yes. If you click on "Open in FilmLoop" to open the eBay Loop on your desktop, FilmLoop will check in with ebay.com regularly to see what's new. You'll automatically be told of new items in your selected category with a discrete pop up in the lower corner of your desktop. Click on the pop up to go directly to the item.

Here's one of our favorite Loops -- garden gnomes for sale on eBay. This could just as easily be a Loop of any eBay store too. Click on this Loop. You'll get the garden gnomes Loop.

To make a Gallery Loop of your store items:

1. Go to http://ebay.filmloop.com.

2. Enter your seller name. Click on "Search". A Loop of your items is automatically generated.

   

3. Click on "Open" to open your Loop in FilmLoop. (Here you'll be asked to download the FilmLoop Player if you don't already have it.)

4. Choose "Post Web and Blogs" from the Actions menu for the Loop. (You can see this menu by right-clicking with the mouse on the Loop, or by choosing the Actions pull down when you rollover the Loop.)

   

5. Select "eBay.com" from the Site/Host Destination and "Flash Gallery Looplet" from the Loop Link Style menu.

6. Click "Customize Gallery" to get to the customizing choices. Edit the captions, size, colors, etc. and click on Preview to see how it'll look.

7. When you're done, click on the code at the bottom of the dialog box and copy to the Clipboard. You can do this by right-clicking with the mouse and choosing Copy (Windows), or using the keyboard equivalent for Copy on the Macintosh.

You now have all the code you need to add an auto-updating Gallery Loop on your eBay.com pages, your blog or your web site. You just need to know how to get into "HTML editing mode" wherever you want to post your Gallery Looplet.

Search for whatever you love on eBay!

Until now, you've just been able to get what we call "canned Loops" for items on eBay. Now, you can search for whatever you love on eBay and watch those items in a Loop. Whenever new auction items are added to eBay, you'll see them in your Loop. Here's how.

Search for anything on eBay Go to http://ebay.filmloop.com. Look for whatever you want on eBay. You can limit your search to particular categories. Click Search. Your items appear in a Loop on your Web page. Rollover an item to get details Rollover any item to see details -- when it was posted, latest bid news, etc. Click through to bid on eBay Click on an item to go directly to that item on eBay. Open in FilmLoop to monitor 24/7! The Loop will stay updated all the time. You'll get notified when new items in your category come up for auction. You don't need to keep checking back with eBay. Make a Looplet and post it on your Blog Right-click your eBay Loop choose Web/Blog/IM Link. Make a Looplet to post on your Blog. Got a Favorite Seller? Enter their seller ID into the search box. You'll get an automatically updating Loop of everything in their store.

Are you an eBay Seller? Get a Free Looplet on your Site! 1. Enter your eBay seller ID into the "search by seller name or ID" search box. 2. Click search. All the items in your store will appear in a Loop on this Live Listings page. 3. Click on "Open in FilmLoop". This will open your store Loop in FilmLoop on your desktop. (The FilmLoop Player will download first, if needed.) 4. Then, share your Loop! Click "share" in the FilmLoop Player to send your Loop to other people by email. (Read about how to do this.) 5. If you want to put a link to your Loop on your eBay store, right-click on your Loop and choose Web/Blog/IM Link to make a moving "Looplet" of your store that you can put on your store web page. 6. Choose "Generic Site/No Javascript Allowed" from the Site/Host Destination menu. 7. Choose Flash Looplet Loop link style menu. 8. Choose a size for your Looplet. The one below is 150 pixels high, by 350 pixels wide. It has a speed of "1". 9. Press the "click to copy" button.  This will put the "code" needed to generate a Looplet (see example below) onto the Clipboard.  10. Then, get to a place where you can paste custom HTML in your eBay store, and paste the code. The Looplet will appear on your page. Anyone who clicks on the Looplet will automatically get your Loop, and they'll get FilmLoop for free automatically. (Read about how to do this.) Here's a Flash Loop from one of our favorite eBay Power Sellers, "stephintexas."  It shows the latest additions to that eBay store. Click on the Looplet to see the full range. As new items come up for sale, they are added to the Loop automatically. You don't need to keep it updated yourself. FilmLoop takes care of checking in with eBay to see if there are new items in the store.  If you add items to your store, they'll automatically appear in the Loop.
